A new kind of stomach.

Project for Paul King's class Figurative communication. The only requirement was to make a triptych where each piece can work on its own. I did my piece on whales. The water proved to be a good match but in the end I think I won. Although it is pretty easy to see which piece I did the water in last...

I did the line-work in pencil and painted the piece digitally.

Landscape

Just finished up a 3 week assignment for Patch's class Illustration Methods. For this piece I drew a detailed pencil drawing then scanned it and "painted" it in photoshop. I learned a lot about the process of w
orking in this program, but still working on rendering skies without it getting muddy looking. It'll get there eventually.

Double acrylic, what does it mean?

This week in figurative communication class we had a session with a live model. We had 3 hours of the same pose to work with and could chose any painting medium. I decided to continue my experiment with acrylic paints and I'm pretty happy with the results.

Meanwhile for Patch's class another acrylic painting has been completed. For the last installment of the self portrait I chose to do a piece on the stress that can easily pile up that people are to manage in a healthy productive way. However some of us *cough* just carry this stress with us.

Sleep

This is a painting for Patch's class. The assignment was to create a self portrait based on one word. Mine ended up being "tired" as I couldn't think of an idea for the better half of the week due to well, being tired.
I used acrylic paint and some micron pen for outlines.
